We are beginning NOW with preparations for venue, sourcing financial support, and welcome input from our community to support us in our endeavours.

COLLECTION - FRESH! - Pies will be available for collection at the Manawatu Performing Arts competition at the Terrace End School Hall, on 16th August in Palmerston North.

Meritorious Awards
Saturday, 3rd November, 2018 - Upper Hutt
Peter Menzies and Stephen Allison received Piping and Dancing of New Zealand Meritorious Awards
Today, Piping and Dancing New Zealand, awarded (left to right) Peter Menzies and Stephen Allison, with Meritorious Awards for Services to Highland and National Dancing. Both pipers, have given many years service, to piping for dancing throughout New Zealand. Senior Championships and special events, plus countless regional and local competitions have all been in a days work for these pipers. The presentation was made at the Upper Hutt Highlanders competition day, where both Stephen and Peter were the pipers for the day.

About Wellington Centre:
The Wellington Centre covers the lower North Island from Wanganui in the west to Dannevirke in the east, across to the Wairarapa and down to and including Wellington. We are a large geographical centre with societies conducting Highland Dancing and Piping competitions.
In January, the Turakina Highland Games starts the year with piping and dancing events. Throughout the year dancing competitions are held in Feilding, Levin, Lower Hutt, Manakau, Palmerston North, Rongotea and Waikanae with a piping competition hosted at Upper Hutt. The year concludes with Square Day in Palmerston North.
